Marine iguanas, Galapagos Islands

By Gary Arndt, everything-everywhere.com

I had the pleasure of visiting the Galapagos Islands in October 2011. They lived up to their reputation as being one of the most special places on earth.?

The islands, located several hundred miles off the coast of Ecuador, is where Charles Darwin came up with the theory of natural selection. They?are the home to many endemic species found no where else on earth.?

One species is the marine iguana, the only species of lizard that feeds at sea. These iguanas were sunning themselves on a rock when I walked past and took the time to pose for me.?
