Eco-Friendly Heating and Cooling Solutions | Healthy Green Living ...

More and more companies are answering people?s demands for greener solutions to the heating and cooling of homes and businesses.? With the number of people and businesses looking to improve the future of Earth increasing, manufacturers are focusing on higher efficiency units and new technologies.? Further, with this year?s summer being the hottest on record in the United States, it?s likely that the extreme temperatures will return again next year. Below are new units and technologies that are now available to those with going green on the brain

Heating Options

  • A wood boiler is a great option for those looking to do away with gas, oil, and electric companies to heat their homes and water. The outdoor boiler solution burns wood to heat the home and water. Since wood is a renewable resource, unlike gas and oil, there are few impacts on Mother Earth compared to the other resources currently available.
  • Power generators are now available and use an internal combustion engine to create heat. The units are relatively quiet and let off very low amounts of pollutant emissions. The outdoor unit requires venting through PVC piping.
  • Radiating heat systems are another up and coming technology in heating. This technology does away with force air heating and concentrates heat near the floor and heats the room from the ground up. This technology guarantees to reduce energy usage by 30 to 40%. Radiating heating systems are best when they are installed in newer homes, while they are being built since the system needs to be installed underneath particular flooring options.

Cooling Options

  • A geothermal pump uses water this piped through the ground where the soil removes excess heat. This technology reduces the amount of electricity that is needed to cool your home.? Although this technology is a bit pricey because pipes need to be installed underground.
  • Solar power air conditioning is a great option to keep heat at bay in the summer. These units can help reduce energy drastically without homeowners and businesses having to installing panels to your roof. The panels are already attached to the tops of the units and may also be added to units that you already own.
  • Ice power is a popular new technology that works with ordinary A/C units by creating ice while you sleep. Creating ice at night is a good option because energy demands are lower in the evening hours. The stored ice is then used throughout the day to cool your air conditioning units.

With some many eco-friendly options in heating like a wood boiler and cooling, there is no excuse for not cutting your heating and cooling bills while doing something good for Earth.
